The Power is in his Promise!‏

Has God ever promised you anything?

My Sisters,
I am blessed and honored to be able to testify to you this morning about the promises of God fulfilled in my life.

Tuesday June 2nd was my third and last major surgery involving facial reconstruction. I am doing well and plan to see you all soon!

As most of you know I was diagnosed with having aggressive cysts and a tumor growing in my jaw early last year. When the doctors told me that my jaw had been broken beyond repair and would have to be replaced and reconstructed, I was devastated. When they explained that I would have to undergo bone and skin grafting from my rib, hip and stomach. Place a steel bar in my chin and wire my jaws shut for months, it was more than I could bear to imagine.

I pleaded with the Lord that he not take me thru that, that he would spare me so much heartache, pain and grief. I told him I was not strong enough to bear the weight of that burden--that it would surely crush me. God then reminded me of all of the times in my life he had brought me thru unbearable situations. He asked me to trust him.

Out of control sex life

My name is Jeanette I am a born again virgin(13 years) thanks be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Before Christ I was a lost and lonely young lady looking for love in all the wrong places. I had no idea not having a relationship with my father would lead me on a journey looking for this same kind of relationship in any man. I had no idea I was searching for protection, strength, and affirmation.

How God Took a wondering soul full circle and back to Him.

A little background of who I am. I'm one of twelve kids. I'm 33 years old. My mother was a stay at home Mom not because she didn't want to work but because she believed that my father was the head of the household and that God was the head of my father. My father was one that when He was in the world He was all the way in, but when he came to Jesus He lived totally for Christ. Everything sin that my father committed in the world became off limits to us children. That included a whole lot of things such as checkers, chess, pool, playing sports, cards, all forms of alcohol, women, friends, and our family that wasn't in the church. He kept a tight rule over us. There wasn't any dating or going to the movies. I was thirteen when I was first allowed to go over a friend’s house. I had 30 minutes and he lived 30 minutes away in walking distance. LOL. I don't blame my father cause he did the best He could with what He had to work with. He came from a family of 21 and all his older brothers left home so he had to drop out of school in the second grade to help his father on the farm and to help take care of his older sister kids and his younger siblings. How God works is like this. My siblings and me didn't know of our father's worldly life.

 "DJ Takeover" - Sexually Pure

"I must tell you that I have spoken at women's conferences, youth events and faith based HIV/AIDS initiatives like Sing for Change, with Jeff Tyler." Contrary to the stereotypes that  male virgins are homely (not that homely is wrong but...that image is inaccurate), Jeff's charismatic and stylish modeling of abstinence is a refreshing addition to conversations around sex and sexuality. His magnetic personality leaves a positive residue for many to consider his message of self-discipline. "I have seen women and men bless God that male virgins exist and that images of masculinity are being redefined by black men. They are relieved that there are men who are invested equally in chastity."

That Life Wasn't Easy, But This Life Is Worth It

One woman was picked out to be transparent to the nation regarding all of her past situations and circumstances.

How can one woman go through so much in such a short period of time? How can one woman be used by God in such a remarkable way? That life wasn’t easy, but this life is worth it!

I was the only child in my family and I was brought up in an exceptional home. I went to a holiness church, but like the old saying goes: “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink“. Oh, now you all are calling me a horse huh?

To make a long story short; I smoked weed from the age of 14 to 35, I snorted cocaine from the age of 19 to 35, I drank alcohol from the age of 6 to 35, I was in a tri-sexual lifestyle from the age of 20 to 35. BUT at the age of 35, I was introduced to Jesus Christ.

The Water Bottle...lived by Brian C. Wilson

As a vocalist I love bottled water. Singers need water to stay hydrated to continue to sound good. I was crunched for time one day on the way to a singing engagement and noticed that there was a bottle of water on my kitchen sink. I assumed that my wife must have left it there so I asked her if it was okay to take it with me. It did not seem like much to ask. In fact I had made such requests of her in the past and she always said yes.

This time, however, she told me that the water did not belong to her but to my 4 year old son Joshua. He and my wife took a mother/son outing to the zoo the day before and she purchased it for him at one of the concession stands. I could have easily just taken the water at this point and let my wife answer any questions he might have about where it went. I decided instead to consider his feelings and ask him for the water (hoping of course that he would respond to the request the same way my wife would have).

He was hesitant as if he didn't know what I meant. Do I want some of the water? Do I want the entire the bottle? Do I just want him to show me the bottle for a moment until it returns to the safety of its very visible perch on our kitchen sink? I imagined that these were the questions he was asking himself until my wife gently but successfully convinced him to put the bottle in my hands. At this point I thanked him for being such a good boy and hurriedly gathered my things so I could make it to the church on time.

Once I approached the door, I saw tears on my son's face. He protested that the water was his. I reminded him that he had just given it to me but he insisted, mine, and grabbed my arm to get the bottle back.

Overcoming Mental Barriers

Today is THE DAY to REJOICE! In order for this to be successfully accomplished, one would normally suggest cleaning out the closet. I'm talking about your mind! Letting Go of All Worries AND LETING GOD take
complete charge. When we hand over our cares and burdens to The Lord, He will lift us up and surely sustain us.

When I was younger, I was diagnosed with a mental disorder. As I reflect on the early days of dealing with this, I remember I felt alone, was very confused and scared! Was it right? It surely felt wrong (the way I was feeling). Thanks to a wonderful mother and great family, I was introduced to The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob very early in life … so I KNEW where to go! I KNEW where TO KNOCK! I immediately turned to this Higher Power and NO LONGER felt alone!!! I began my journey until I ended up where I sit today, which I must say is still very difficult at times (living with a few mental/emotional/stress – related disorders), but NOW, I know how to overcome mental barriers. It takes time, possibly some medication, but most importantly: a heart AND GOD! With those two combined, not one mountain will remain grounded when you ask through faith, in Jesus Christ's Name, for it to be moved!
