Houston, TX -- Path MEGAzine's Kris Patrick interviews Tennessee Titan’s quarterback Vince Young on the Wild Cat Golf Course of Houston, Texas.  Young is the subject of conversation and media scrutiny due to a recent fight that broke out in a Dallas strip club.  In this recent interview with Vince you see the Vince Young that his friends and family adore.  We at Path have grown to love Vince and his Mother Felicia Young.  And we know what the two of them strive to be like on a daily basis.  That’s Christ-like. 

Unfortunately, The incident at the Onyx Strip club was caught on tape, and shows that Vince Young still has some maturing to do as he becomes a leader in life and on the football field.  After looking at the tape it appears that Vince threw no clear punch.  Pushing and shoving ensued after Young gets in a fight with a man identified as Creiton Kinchen.  Young came at Kinchen after he flashed an upside down longhorn sign, insulting his former college the University of Texas.  Creiton Kinchen is an Oklahoma Sooner fan, and the videotape showed a scuffle that escalating as a result of the argument.

We spoke to Vince’s mom Felicia Young about the recent incident that threatens to have her son suspended from the National Football League.  “It can happen to anybody,” says Felicia.  “If you’re not out there to be an example, this can happen to anybody.”  Felicia goes on to say, “That anyone of us can loose our tempers when someone insults something that we’re passionate about.”  She admits her son was in the wrong atmosphere too late at night and Vince should have controlled his temper saying to Path MEGAzine, “That it’s a bunch of child stuff!”  Path learned from Ms. Young that Vince drove himself to the police station after the incident. Young was charged with a Class C assault punishable by a $500 fine.  Vince was then able to catch a flight to the Tennessee Titan’s facility later in the day. 

Once at the facility Vince apologized for the incident saying, "I Just made a mistake, made a mistake even being there and letting that guy provoke me into doing what I did."  When prompted by reporters, Vince was asked whether or not he thought he would receive a suspension.  Young says, "I pray to God that Roger Goodell doesn't come down hard on me, because I definitely want to be here for my teammates."

"Becoming a leader is a process, you don't just step up and take over a team," Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher said. "It's a process and in the process on occasion you hope that there are not setbacks, but this may be a setback. But in the long run I don't think this is going to affect him."

It’s unsure what will come out of this incident, but it’s important for us all to remember not to put ourselves in places where the enemy can have a field day on our emotions and actions.  “Staying on the Path” sometimes means not putting yourself in places where you will be tempted to come out of character.

As I admire Vince Young and the accomplishments he has made especially from Texas I am so
disappointed in him having a beautiful girlfriend as he does and frequenting a strip club,
he needs to understand he is a mentor for our young african american boys who look up to
him ,hope he realizes that !!
